Don’t sweat the ballot.

IU Provost Office

No matter the school you are in, you’ll find yourself sweating through a heavy load of difficult work. Life move’s pretty fast, so keeping up on academic work and the additional obligations students need to prioritize contributes to why so many young people lack political wisdom, and we don’t blame them. Finding unbiased and reliable information about the election can seem daunting and time consuming, however, the ‘Don’t sweat the ballot’ campaign reaches our target on their turf to make them feel empowered enough to get caught up on the election with IU PACE’s easy to access non-bias information.

Team Members: Jill Nenn, Oren Penn, and Kayli Croddy

Selected to be ran by the IU Provost Office Fall of 2022

Bus Shelter

Our Jacobs students are in one of the top 5 music schools in the country. Learning Beethoven’s No. 5 takes a great deal of effort, especially when compared to the amount of effort needed to get informed on voting issues before the next election. Student’s this amazing reading off the music stand will be able to get informed via scanning and sitting down on the bus.
Possible Locations: bus stop outside of Jacobs

Digital Board

Reminding informatics and computer science students the learning curve of coding might seem like a traumatic event, However, with the short time they have at this stop, they can quickly scan the QR code and learn more about voting and feel the weight lifted.
Possible Locations: 3rd or 7th Street

Digital Billboard

Walking down 10th street in Bloomington, students immediately gaze at the brain outside of the psychology building. If you are a psychology student, the basis of mapping the brain and other organisms is nothing new. Getting educated on voters rights is way more simple than trying to map out the different facets of the brain.
Possible Locations: digital board outside/inside the psychology building

Psychology courses early on discuss neurotransmission. When student’s realize how complex and deep they’ve gotten in their major, informing yourself and gaining political wisdom doesn’t seem so daunting.

Possible Location: inside Psychology buildings

Sweating in Indiana’s humidity is no joke. Student’s who exercise along the b-line or who are just trying to walk to class, undoubtedly catch a sweat. If they can take on this challenge, why wouldn’t they be able to take on voting?

Stairwell Idea

After an exhausting trek through campus, students are forced to climb up the stairs to their respected classrooms. Students are always on their phones when walking up the stairs, so why not get informed on voting issues?
